Nestled in the heart of a boutique hotel that was originally used as a British military barrack, The Oasia is set to become Singapore’s leading high-end wellness spa — inspired by the formation and sustainability of an oasis, where guests can refresh, refuel and recharge.
Genesis Architects executed adroit spatial reconfiguration, balancing the needs of a modern spa with conservation sensitivities. Working with structural limitations of the existing building, treatment rooms are modulated and pushed out along the edges of the rectangular floor plate, while services run along a central spine for maximum efficiency.
Natural and textured materials are carefully composed to create a palpable sense of tranquility and calmness for a heightened user experience; while colors are kept muted to complement the existing colonial heritage building.
The premise also boasts avant-garde sanitation technology that ensures operational readiness to serve guests in the current Covid situation.
